A ceremony as weighty
as the covenant itself.
Bespoke Nikah ceremonies conducted by Sheikh Junaid Dar al-Azhary — an Al-Azhar trained scholar fluent in English and Arabic. Available at mosques, venues across London, and beyond.
Every ceremony, every time.
Pre-ceremony call
A preparatory call with Sheikh Junaid to discuss the ceremony, the couple's background, and any specific wishes. Included as standard in all bookings.
Khutbat al-Nikah
The traditional sermon preceding the Nikah contract — delivered with weight and care, not as a formality.
Nikah contract
The offer (ijab) and acceptance (qabul) conducted in accordance with Islamic law, with the wali and witnesses present.
Du'a for the couple
A heartfelt supplication for the couple and their families — in Arabic, or bilingually in the premium ceremony.
Nikah certificate
A signed Islamic Nikah certificate provided as a record of the ceremony.
English narration
The ceremony is narrated in English throughout so that all guests can follow and participate, regardless of Arabic knowledge.
A scholar's du'a,
not a formality.
The du'a at a Nikah ceremony is not background noise. In Sheikh Junaid's hands it is a considered supplication — in Arabic, or bilingually — that marks the beginning of a marriage with the weight it deserves.

Before you enquire.
Is the Nikah legally recognised in the UK?+
An Islamic Nikah ceremony is not automatically legally recognised as a civil marriage in England and Wales. To have a legally recognised marriage, a civil ceremony must also take place — either at a registered venue or at a register office. Sheikh Junaid will advise on this at the pre-ceremony call.
Who needs to be present?+
The Nikah requires: the groom, the bride's wali (male guardian), two Muslim witnesses, and the officiant. The bride herself does not need to be physically present if the wali acts on her behalf with her explicit consent — though her presence is strongly preferred and usual.
Can the ceremony be conducted in English only?+
Yes. The standard ceremony is conducted in English with the essential Arabic elements (the contract itself, khutbah, du'a). A fully English ceremony can be arranged on request. The premium tier delivers the full ceremony bilingually.
How far in advance should we book?+
As early as possible — particularly for Saturday ceremonies and peak dates. Contact the office with your preferred date and Sheikh Junaid's team will confirm availability.
Can Sheikh Junaid travel outside the UK?+
Destination ceremonies outside London are possible. Contact the office directly for a quote — travel, accommodation, and timing all factor into the fee.
